The following link shows a brief webcast of how Visio’s reliable data connectivity can be used to:

• Update the current network status
• Provide mapping detail to determine where security vulnerabilities exist
• Overlay building floorplans with asset details from SMS
• Monitor patching activity in real time using the above visual aids

While I’ve never given much consideration to using Visio in this capacity it does yield some interesting concepts for future development efforts.
