Apparently, the System Center Mobile Device Manager product has been released to manufacturing. Forgive me if I seem less than enthused about this product, but this has got to be the weakest link in the System Center armor. With the device management capabilities of Configuration Manager 2007, I’m hard pressed to find a market need for a competitive solution within the same product family. In fact, I’m very concerned that Microsoft opted to spend the time and money to produce a separate solution – rather than expanding the capabilities of Configuration Manager.
And, in case you’re wondering, no – there isn’t support for Blackberry or any other non-Windows Mobile device management. This is strictly for Windows Mobile devices.
