The release date will be in the second half of the CY/2007. Microsoft have updates on intermediate releases and the final release posted on the
newsgroup and on the Connect website.

FAQ: When will DPM v2 Beta 2 Ship

DPM, Technology No Comments »

The word from the product group is that DPMV2 Beta 2 will be available in the second quarter of the CY/2007. Personally, I think that (barring any major issues) this should be a relatively short beta cycle due to the H2/07 RTM date. Time will tell though.

Fifth MVP, First for DPM

DPM, General, Technology No Comments »

As many of you know, for the past four years I’ve enjoyed being a part of the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) program for SMS. Though I continue to support the SMS community and work with the Microsoft product group on System Center Configuration Manager 2007, I’m very pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2007 I will be moving over to the System Center Data Protection Manager MVP team.

Joining Joseph Bittman as the only other Data Protection Manager MVP, I’m pleased to start building a strong community around Microsoft’s latest backup and recovery solution. With the increased access to the product group, I’m hoping to have more timely and relevant posts about the product in the weeks and months to come.
